I see you

* Songs downloaded this last week: Bless The Broken Road and Fast Cars and Freedom by Rascal Flats, and Suck My Kiss, Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie, and Give It Away by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

* Books I want to read: Sense and Sensitivity and A Seperate Peace. I blame Ang Lee for the former. I figured if the film was just that good, the book will be better. Plus i really enjoyed the characters and I wanted more of their inner lives. The latter book is more of a reread. I read it in school, my sophomore year I think, and I just remember one scene very vividly - where Gene tells Finny what he did and Finny falls out of bed (?) trying to get to him. I don't know if I made that up or if it really happened that way but I remember being affected by the ending way back when. It was so sad, Gene's guilt and Finny's ultimate fate. Which is odd because I'm rarely affcted by stories of adolescent males.

* Had a somewhat sexy dream the other night which I felt righted a 30 year old wrong. Remember that movie Dressed to Kill? Remember Angie Dickenson flirting with that unknown man in the museum and their roll in the cab on the way back to his place? And then she's slashed to death because apparently if you cheat on your husband with an afternoon hook up, you deserve to die horribly in an elevator with no hope of escape or rescue? I dreamt i was watching the museum scene on a monitor. Angie was younger and had longer, white blonde hair and the guy had a black coat with black gloves on, which he used to run through her hair as he kissed her. Then in the very next scene, instead of getting cut up by a cross-dressing pyscho, she stumbles incredibly satisfied into her husband's office and falls boneless onto his leather couch, satiated like whoa. I have no idea why I would dream something so very random, except that the elevator scene has apparently bothered me for a lot of years.

* I'm invited to a costume party by a co-worker next weekend. My husband can't go because he's recovering from knee surgery and he's not interested in dressing up. I'm debating on going by myself or not. It's being given and DJ'd by work friends, and while I like them and have gone out for Friday night drinks at Applebees with some of them, I tend to think costumes, alcohol and co-workers are unmixy things. What to do, what to do....

Gonna go write now and see what falls out of my head.
