I have never seen Oz as a sexual person.

Not even a little bit.

When I see him in smut!fic, I get this little "really? him?" buzz in my head, and I've read some incredibly well written smut in which he's a star. I just...I dunno, I just never have. And I think it might have something to do with his build - smallish, sort of wiry.

This isn't a bashing thing, either. I *like* Oz, and a part of me will always ship him with Willow *old skool love*. I get thrilled when he exhibits interest in something because yay, he emotes. Kind of.

Having said that, I'm sort of marveling that my first drabblish ficlet was about Oz. Back in the sands of time, when I went by another name, posting something like five or six pieces of fic including this one, and then went all the way offline for two years.

It's raw, it's old, but it's mine so I'm claiming it here.

Title: Minus Human
Rated: R
Disclaimer: Oz isn't mine, neither is the universe he resides in.

She's coming, rising from the horizon like a goddess from the tides.

He cannot resist her pull.

When everything else falls away, his family and his friends, college and his band.

//the only one he'll ever love his whole life long//

She comes to him, and embraces him with her silver light. There in the darkness of the trees and the open fields, he comes to her naked and willing, a supplicant at her altar. She accepts him, in all of his forms, and he worships her. Howls his devotion even as he drops to his knees and the pain of change overcomes him.

Her devoted, eternal slave.

He rises, reborn, and howls his joy to her.

Feel free to be completely honest.

I will have to jump in with yet another person that doesn't really see Oz in a sexual light. Like you, I am all about the Willow/Oz cause of the old school. And there was just something so cute and innocent about them. Like, excuse the term, puppy love. I guess that is why I never saw him as sexual. Then again, I never saw Willow as very sexual either. Again, with that innocent thing.

I did love this piece though. I loved the parallels you drew between the goddess and her altar, worshipping her. It almost feels like a baptism in the being reborn line. I like the comparisons drawn through the whole thing.

It never ceases to amaze me how much can be accomplished in so few words, especially in your hands. You really are amazing.

We're of the same mind then, because I never saw Willow as a sexual being, either. I think it had to do with her mouth - she looked funny when she kissed. Not to mention, the way she acted sometimes, it would have been like kissing a child.

::ducks the tomatoes::

Oz, on the other hand, is just plain cool, and I loved how he loved Willow.

Thank you for liking the wee little ficlet:D

A very romantic take on being a werewolf=)
The major fault of this piece is it's complete and utter laconicism.

And considering this, no, I never thought of Oz as something sexual. Probably because I only love him 'coz he's a brother I never had. And then again, after Will's little fling with Xander I always felt he could do better then her. And then he went and slept with Veruca, and Willow got all angsty and heartbroken and it felt so hypicritical to me. Again, big brother love talking.
Come to think of it, there are no high school romances in Whedonverse that I could ship. Willow/Xander and Buffy/Xander were SO Dawson's Creek season 1, lol. Xander and Cordy, while cute and funny sometimes, didn't make me think of love at all. Bangel was way too angsty and... hopeless is the word I must be looking for. Love shouldn't make you want to kill yourself, really. So there... highschool was a bad relationship place for Whedonpeople.

During the high school years, I went along with the ships they were presenting. Oz/Willow, Xander/Cordy, Buffy/Angel. It was part of the show, like Giles being the librarian, and the hellmouth being under the high school. First love can feel like dying, so I understood Buffy's feelings for Angel, but for me it was like viewing a painting. I didn't feel it, not like I do c/a.

But when I try and see Oz the way he's written in slash, and het, I can't see it. Especially pared with Angel. Maybe because their body types are so different. Who knows?

And you do have a better vocabulary than me. I had to look up laconiscism.:D

Lovely. I never really thought on Oz as a sexual creature. I find Seth Green generally attractive, but not my type. However, if you can still find them around, you should read Puca Dentata's Oz stories (any of her stories). She was one of the first really good writers I read when I was just getting into the BTVS fandom and her Oz and her Spike have always been a part of the underlying texture of the characters that I watched on TV.

I'm not sure I've read any of Puca's stories - I tend to gravitate towards certain characters *coughcordycough* - but I might take a gander. There was so incredible dark fic writers in this fandom, and I read a few of them at the beginning of my 'must-have-fic' ways.

The most stand out fic I've ever read about Oz involves his reaction upon finding out about Willow and Tara. It takes place in a diner, through the POV of one of the other patrons, and was seriously one of the most disturbing pieces of Buffyverse fic I've ever read. But like an idiot, I don't remember the author or title.

I share your enthusiasm for Willow/Oz. (I also loved Xander/Cordy!) I do have similar feelings about Oz as a sexual being, but I think mine have to do with personal preference. He's too little. I like 'em big- thus my DB lust.

That said, there are a few Oz-centric stories that are incredibly hot- glossing's fic springs to mind- if you haven't read her...you really should. Oz as a substitute for Buffy (paired with Angel) and Buffy and Oz together, too.

Oh and I meant to also say- I loved your drabble. Lyrical and lovely.

Throughout my meandering path, I've read a few of her fics, Oz/Buffy mostly, some Oz/Angel. She's a gorgeous writer.

His body type is probably at the root of why I can't look at him with lusty thoughts. Like Xander told Dawn, he could probably fit in his shaving kit. I prefer Spike's lean musculature, and DB's body sends me into spasms - those shoulders! Poetry should be written, ya know? Hands, arms, face. Guh. Height.

Okay, stopping now.

Yeah- DB's shoulders are...um...wide.
I have this perfect memory of
sitting behind him during the filming of a scene in 'These Girls'- and his shoulders pretty much spanned the width of the door.

I was pretty much incoherent.

I've always liked big men...so DB is perfect.

JM is pretty- sometimes too pretty...but he's also too small for me to spend too much time fantasizing about him. That said- he did have a smokin' body!
